Which is the difference between space and place

Space is the main element of design and planification which makes the events possible (because as you can imagine an event can’t exist without a space hosting it)

 

However space is something abstract that doesn’t have a substantial meaning or tangible feelings. A place can be defined as a space that has a meaning.

 

The meaning can be given in a direct way (this can be an intimate way, for example through senses such as vision, smell, touch and hearing) or indirect way (in this case the meaning is conceptual and mediated by symbols, art ando so on)

 

In transforming a mere events space into a place of function, designers have to give that space a social connection for human beings, in this way value is added.
