Not all flowers are wedding-suitable: it’s important to trust the experts (i.e. your wedding planner and florist) and understand that there are restrictions on what you can include into your overall design. A bunch of peonies or orchids may look the best option for your Wedding day, but flowers are seasonals so if it is not their period it could be very difficult to keep them alive and hydrated. Anything can impact a flower’s life that’s why it is important to rely on experienced florists and designers who know how to best handle these living beings.
Working with perishable items is always a challenge, furthermore there is a short list of blooms we suggest to avoid due to their delicate nature. We refer to:
Lilacs, because they wilt easily.
Hydrangeas, because they require 24/7 hydration.
Lilies, because their pollen can stain dresses and their fragrance is very strong.
On one hand, nothing enhances a wedding space more than bold, cascading arrangements or classic centerpieces, on the other keep in mind that greenery and flowers are living, breathing things that require meticulous care and attention to maintain their quality and perkiness.
