British citizens getting married in the Sorrento Coast, Amalfi Coast, Capri or Ischia must obtain a ‘Nulla Osta’ from the British Consulate in Italy. To get the ‘Nulla Osta’ British Nationals must provide the following documents:

1. Certificate of No impediment - You must give notice of marriage to a UK Superintending registrar. After 2/3 weeks the Registry Office releases a document called "Certificate of No Impediment". (You must obtain 2 separate certificates of No Impediment - one for the Bride and one for the Groom).
2. Original Birth Certificate The Birth certificate in long form showing both parents names which you should be able to obtain from the registrar of births, deaths and marriages in the UK.
3. Photocopy of valid UK passport
4. Divorce decree (if applicable) - A divorce decree is necessary if you have been previously married and are now divorced.
Once you have obtained these documents you must send them to the Consular Office in Naples who will issue the ‘Nulla Osta’ (certificate in Italian) to you. There is a consular fee for the production of a ‘Nulla Osta ‘and marriage documents. (We can do this for you). Once the Ok is given all you have to do is send the ‘Nulla Osta’ to us.

The local authorities will need this certificate at least 1 month before the ceremony .
